(CNN) — A 5.6 bulk trembler struck off a seashore of Taiwan on Wednesday night, causing light jolt on a island, a U.S. Geological Survey and a Taiwanese Central Weather Bureau said.
The quake, centered in a Philippine Sea about 65 kilometers easterly of Taiwan’s easterly coast, did not poise any tsunami threat, a Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The jolt lasted reduction than a minute. No reports of vital repairs were reported.
Government officials on a island asked residents to be on warning for aftershocks.
